What’s That Smell?!

Bad Breath. It happens to all of us at one point or another. You always hope it never happens to you by taking every step possible to prevent such an occurance. Luckily for you, there is a way to check if you are the bearer of bad breath as it is hard to detect if your own breath is not fresh smelling.

Is your breath fresh smelling?

The Lick Wrist Test.
1. Wash then dry your hands/wrists.
2. Lick your wrist!
3. Let the saliva dry (approximately 30 seconds) and smell your licked wrist.
4. How does it smell?

If you discover that (gasp!) you DO have bad breath how do you fix this issue?
First, follow the steps outlined in our Love Your Smile blog post. Do you STILL have breath concerns after getting your oral hygiene routine in place?
Second, consult your dentist! Who better to help you with an oral issue than your dental care provider? At your dental appointment your dentist will check a number of things to see if you have periodontal issues, cavities, or crooked teeth causing the breath concerns. Perhaps you are not brushing properly or need to change out your toothbrush. Together you and your dentist can figure out a treatment plan that works best for you and your breath concerns.
